Results & impact

As the global funding environment becomes challenging, agencies delivering aid and humanitarian programmes come under increasing pressure from donors and public to demonstrate results and value for money. This requires not just designing and delivering effective programmes, but also requires agencies to ensure that their management capacity and institutional system remain geared to continuously improving the way aid money is utilized.

RMC has worked with large and small organisations internationally to assist UN agencies like UNICEF, UNDP, OCHA and NGOs and donors in facing up to this challenge. We help in setting up M & E system, assessing impact and in demonstrating value for money.

Some of the key contributions we have made are:

  • Final evaluation of Government of Bangladesh’s Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP II)
  • UNDP Mongolia: Evaluation of Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP) 2012-2016, focusing on (i) economic growth and poverty alleviation, (ii) governance and human rights, and (iii) energy & environment.
  • Review of Government of Bangladesh’s National Plan for Disaster Management (2010-2015) and formulation of a new plan for 2016-2020
  • Country programme outcome evaluation of UNDP’s work on participatory election process, national dialogue, peace-building and reconciliation.
  • Review DFID-UNICEF framework for cooperation in humanitarian action
  • Accountability framework for humanitarian aid for ECB network

Currently we are working with African Development Solutions (Adeso) in developing for the Federal Government of Somalia a comprehensive disaster management framework.
